Two aisles, north and south, run down the sides of the church with the nave in the middle. Down these aisles are many beautiful stained glass windows which add beauty and colour to our church. The south aisle windows depict some well-known parables with each pair describing scenes from different parts of each story. The north aisle windows are memorials to parishioners. See the windows on the pages Stained Glass Windows in the South Aisle and Stained Glass Windows in the North Aisle. There are four beautifully worked mosaics, each surrounded by a marble border, at the east end of both the north and south aisles.

In the north aisle there are many single comfortable chairs which can be moved to allow different arrangements to be made for services, meetings, group work and so on. At the west part of the north aisle is the children’s corner. This area is used during the 09.30 Sunday Parish and All-age communion services and also for the St James's Ark Parent/Carer and Toddler Group on Monday mornings. The corner is well stocked with books, games and toys. At the east part of the north aisle is an area associated with personal prayer. Here there is a small altar with candles, which are lit as a sign of the prayer offered. On the altar is a copy of a 16th century Russian icon.
